For FIRST Robotics Competition teams

One team. A clearer season.

Plan the week, scout every match, build the robot and teach new members, in one place your whole team shares. Free for FRC teams.

Existing teams can sign in. Contact us for early access while public registration is being prepared.

The whole season

Plan. Scout. Build. Learn.

From kickoff to the last alliance selection, each part of the season has a home, and the whole team works from the same record.

Plan

Everyone knows what's next.

Tasks, one team calendar, shop hours, money and chat, with clear rules about who can change what.

  • Hours with a shop kiosk. Scan a card to clock in. Typed-in hours are marked, and only a mentor edits a closed session.
  • Two people on every claim. The owner picks who manages money, and nobody approves their own reimbursement.
  • Tool training, signed off. Owners and mentors record who is cleared on each tool.
  • Chat that stays with the team. By default, a second adult joins any message between an adult and a student.

Scout

Scouting that keeps up with the match.

Start in the pits, then scout every match from a phone. It keeps working when the venue Wi-Fi doesn't.

  • Pits first. Visit the next pit in one tap. Teams nobody has visited come first.
  • Quick scout. Your next robot from the schedule, one phase at a time, in big tiles.
  • Honest receipts. Saved on this phone until your team really has the report. Only then: Sent to your team.
  • A view for the scouting lead. Assign scouts, find robots nobody covered, and settle disagreements.

Build

Review the code. Know the robot.

Connect your team's GitHub repository and turn on reviews. Each new pull request gets one, and a map of your robot code feeds the rest of Build.

  • Reviews that quote the code. Every finding must quote a line the pull request adds, or it is dropped. Runs on your team's AI key.
  • A code map, without AI. Subsystems, commands, CAN IDs and vendor libraries, read from your repository.
  • Robot Blueprint. Every part of the robot, linked to its CAD, its code and its checks.
  • The CAD agent. Drive Onshape or Fusion 360 from Claude Code, with manufacturing checks before it builds a part.

Learn

New members learn by doing.

Step-by-step tracks for Onshape and for Git and GitHub. Each step explains when to use it, shows an example, and is checked before it counts.

  • Checked, not just clicked. Vantage reads the student's own Onshape part, or their pull request's checks.
  • Lead sign-offs. Steps software can't see go to a lead. Nobody signs off their own.
  • Lessons your team writes. Type one in an editor that saves as you go, or upload a PDF, then add practice the app grades.

Trust and data

Clear about who sees what.

Vantage is closed by design. Your team decides who is in, what each person can change, and where a copy of your data lives.

  • Invite only.

Vantage sets up each team. Owners and mentors invite exact email addresses or share a join code; everyone else joins the waitlist.

  • Roles the database keeps.

Owner, admin, team member, and View only for parents and guests, enforced by the database rather than by hiding buttons.

  • Your copy in a spreadsheet.

Keep a live copy of your scouting, matches and team records in Google Sheets or Excel, readable even when Vantage is offline.

  • Public data beside your own.

Results from The Blue Alliance and ratings from Statbotics sit next to your scouting. Missing numbers stay blank.

  • Scouting sharing, said plainly.

Structured match scouting is shared with other Vantage teams by default, and an owner can turn it off. Scout names, notes and free text are never shared. See the Privacy Policy.

  • Free. AI is optional.

No subscription and no card. For an assistant, connect your own AI key, Codex or Claude Code. What it costs

On every device. In the browser on phones, tablets and laptops, and as a desktop app for Windows and Mac.

Questions

Questions teams ask.

What is Vantage?

A shared workspace for FRC teams: scouting and strategy, tasks and the calendar, hours, money, chat, robot code and CAD, and learning for new members. Everyone on the team signs in to the same place and sees what their role allows.

How does a team get in?

Access is closed. Vantage sets up each team and its owner, and the owner or a mentor invites members by exact email address or shares a join code. New teams join the waitlist; team signup is planned from December 1, 2026. Vantage is for people aged 13 and older.

Does scouting work offline?

Yes, once the forms are ready. Open scouting while you have a connection, and match and pit reports then save on the phone when the signal drops and upload when it is back. The phone says Sent to your team only after your team has the report. QR transfer can move reports between phones. Signing in, connecting services and other server-backed features still need a connection.

What do parents see?

Parents and guests can be given View only access: they can look at what the team shares with them but can't change anything, and the database enforces that. Owners can also limit which parts of Vantage a student or guest can open.

Is our team's data private?

Team records are separated by team and protected by roles. One thing is shared by default: structured match scouting is available to other signed-in Vantage teams, credited to your team, without scout names, notes or free text. An owner or admin can turn that off. The Privacy Policy covers operator access, service providers and retention.

Can we keep our own copy of our data?

Yes. An owner can keep a live copy of the team's records, including scouting, matches, hours and the budget, in Google Sheets or Excel. The copy stays readable even when Vantage is offline. Authorized members can also export data.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. There is no subscription and no card. AI is optional: connect your team's own provider key, a personal key, or your own Codex or Claude Code on a paired computer. Those providers set their own prices and limits.

We already scout with a spreadsheet. Why switch?

Keep the spreadsheet if you like it: Vantage can write a copy of your scouting to one. What Vantage adds is everything around it: pit-first scouting on phones that works without signal, a lead who can see which robots still need a scout, and the pick list, match plans, tasks and budget in the same place.
