Terms of Service

Agreement#

By creating an account or using Vantage, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Vantage is an independent service for FRC teams.

Eligibility and accounts#

You must be age 13 or older. If under 18, use Vantage with permission from a parent, guardian, or authorized adult responsible for your team.

Provide accurate information and protect your credentials. Use only authorized accounts and connections. Self-service signup is available when registration is enabled; joining a team requires its authorization.

Team administration and content#

Owners and administrators manage membership, permissions, and settings. You must have authority to create or administer the team you represent.

You and your team retain ownership of content. You authorize Vantage to host, process, back up, and display it to provide the service. Unless your team opts out, AI activity may train and evaluate our in-house models as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Shared work may remain with a team after a member leaves. Administrators are responsible for appropriate sharing and workspace use.

Team identities and team numbers#

When creating a workspace, you confirm that you are a member, mentor, coach, or other person authorized by that team. Do not claim, register, reserve, or impersonate a team without its authorization. We may suspend the workspace, transfer its ownership, or remove it after investigating a dispute.

We save your confirmation, account, time, and a one-way hash of the network address, not the address itself. A workspace is not official FIRST registration. Vantage is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by FIRST.

Acceptable use#

Do not:

• Use Vantage unlawfully, harass or exploit others, or violate their rights.
• Access accounts or records without authorization, bypass safeguards, or expose credentials.
• Disrupt the service, distribute malicious code, or misuse automation.
• Upload photos or videos to Vantage storage. Supported external links, documents, and CAD artifacts remain subject to these Terms.

AI and connected services#

AI results may be inaccurate. Review outputs before robot operation, purchasing, safety decisions, or other important actions.

You may connect your own Codex or Claude Code on a paired computer, provider key, or supported local service. Personal connections serve your requests. External providers have their own terms, availability, and charges.

Connections do not expand your permissions. Changes remain subject to application permissions and applicable approvals.

Pricing#

Vantage is currently free. External providers may charge separately. We will disclose changes to Vantage pricing before they apply.

Availability#

We may maintain, update, or change the service. Networks, maintenance, and providers can affect availability. Keep exports of important records and use offline competition features where available.

Intellectual property#

Content remains yours or your team's. Software, branding, and third-party materials remain subject to their applicable ownership and licenses.

Student accounts#

Team leaders are responsible for supervision and permissions. Adult–student messages include a second adult by default; administrators control that setting. Vantage does not replace youth-protection procedures.

Suspension and termination#

You may stop using Vantage and request deletion. Authorized owners may export and delete team workspaces.

We may restrict access for violations, security risks, disputed authority, or legal requirements. Where practical, we provide notice and an export opportunity. Urgent issues may require immediate action.

Disclaimers and liability#

To the extent permitted by law, Vantage is provided as is and as available, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Total liability is limited to amounts paid to Vantage in the twelve months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

Your legal rights#

These Terms do not waive mandatory rights, including local consumer-protection law. No mandatory arbitration or exclusive dispute venue is imposed by these Terms.

Changes#

We identify effective versions, notify users of material changes, and request renewed acceptance where required. Minor wording corrections do not change your rights.
